Conservatives have backed the Conservative Party's
proposals on Section 28 which have been announced
by Shadow Deputy Prime Minister David Davis MP.
The
Party's proposals will:
-
Give MPs a free vote, allowing the abolition of
Section 28;
- Put into legislation existing Statutory Guidance
which protects school children from stigmatisation
over sexual orientation, and prohibits the promotion
of any sexual orientation;
- Allow parents to examine sex education materials,
and if there is a significant numbers of objections
trigger a vote.
