Andy Jennings Steps Down as Chairman

Andy Jennings

Andy Jennings has announced he is stepping down as Chairman of the Torche, following his recent appointment as Finance Director of an international events management company.

Speaking to gayconservatives.com, Andy Jennings said:

"Having been appointed to a senior position in business, I no longer have the opportunity to pursue some of the voluntary activities that I was previously able to. Although it is with some reluctance that I step down as Chairman, I look forward to the challenges of my future career.

"I would like to wish my successor and the Torche committee all the best in building on the successes that we have had over the past year".

James Davenport, Deputy Chairman of Torche, responded to Mr Jennings statement:

"I would like, on behalf of the committee and members of Torche, to thank Andy for all his hard work and devoted service over the last year. He has been a skilled Chairman during a period that has been particularly busy for us, and under his leadership we have seen major advances in the Conservative Party's attitude to gay issues. This is in no small part down to his work.

"An announcement will be made shortly regarding Andy's successor, who will serve up to the elections at the Annual General Meeting".
